A long, long time ago………….. in camp time that is!

Camp flies by so fast when you are having fun!

On June 21st, we opened camp for the 2015 season! Horse camp started with 16 campers and horses arriving. Our campers had 2 guest speakers come in that week to talk about horsemanship. Our horse campers learned many new techniques, tricks and ideas for working with their horses. June 28th had 12 horse campers arrive with trailers in tow and their  horses! Years ago, if a child wanted to attend a camp with an intense equestrian program, HC 4-H Camp was the place to come. Still is today. Our program is stronger than ever with dedicated staff, proactive programming with a learn by doing philosophy. Spread the word! Our Horse camp finishes this week for the 2015 season.

On June 24th, 86 Mini campers arrived with their bags packed, sleeping bags in hand and ready to take on the camp with their enthusiasm and camp spirit!
They had a song  fest signing I wish I were a little bar of soap…….. as loud as they can. We  all went  to go play in the pond. Great way to end the week? Why a mini camp birthday party for evening activity of course!!! Our mini campers had a blast and can not wait to return in 2016.

June 28th, 76 campers for traditional camp came to camp! Despite some rain, (which, by the way, makes camp even more fun!) the campers chose their activities for the week on Sunday. Arts and crafts, mountain biking, canoeing, ropes, outpost, nature, waterfront activities, archery are just a few of the selections. Yesterday, we played our first Water Polo game of the season. Staff 4 Counselors 1! Was a spited game!Today, Wednesday we had to postpone the hike due to heavy overnight rains and a possibility of strong storms. Instead, we held a Baldwin Hall Bonanza! What is that??? Well, lots of board games, cards, volleyball, gaga, dodge ball, games room tournaments, arts and crafts, jewelry making and lots of music. The sun came out in time to enjoy a morning free swim and of course our traditional hot dog cookout! With an extended rest hour, wet battle of the bands and a free swim…. our afternoon is in full swing.

I don’t know what is for dinner tonight, however it is a movie night which means the movie is……………. well, you know!!!
