Opportunities for Teens – Note: for 2018 our Counselor Application will be online only.
Teens ages 15-18 may apply for Teen Counselor positions. If selected, counselors volunteer a week of their summers to live with and supervise 10 campers (ages 9-14). Counselors are responsible for the care and well-being of their campers. They also assist staff members in their activity instruction, help lead daily tribe meetings, and help facilitate recreational programs.
This experience is a fantastic opportunity for teens to earn volunteer hours and/or experience for college applications. Counselors also gain leadership skills that can be used for the rest of their lives.
Counselors must be responsible, compassionate, enthusiastic, and patient. They must work as part of a team and, of course, they must want to have fun!
An email will be sent in April to all eligible teens (ages 15-18) who attended camp the prior year. Counselors must be 15 before July 1.
Applications are usually due about a month after they are sent. A few weeks after that, counselors are informed of their week assignments.
Only accepted applicants can attend; no walk-ins, please.
Training is full of workshops to prepare counselors for camp. Because the information is absolutely indispensable, all applicants must attend the entire training. Failure to do so will forfeit your week.
More information about the weekend will be sent to accepted applicants.
Every fall and winter, we hold a Teen Weekend at camp. If you’re age 14 through 18, you’ll get a notice in the mail a few weeks before the Weekend. Everyone sleeps in Baldwin Hall (boys on the boys’ side, girls on the girls’ side!). The Weekend is full of fun activities, like walks to the pond, games, a dance, a talent show, Dodgeball, football, movies, and LOTS of hanging out with friends. It’s a time for our teens to RELAX! Keep checking our Upcoming Events to see when the next Teen Weekend is scheduled!
