OUR CAMP FACILITIES

Hartford County 4-H Camp is adjacent to the Blackledge River and is surrounded by the Salmon River State Forest, giving campers many trails for hiking, nature observation, fishing, and trail riding.

 The camp is situated on 100 acres and includes the following facilities:

Buildings

  • Baldwin Hall, which includes a dining hall upstairs that can seat 266, as well as a recreation hall downstairs
  • Red Shepard Cabin: the camp director’s summer residence
  • The Grant House: a combined infirmary, staff quarters and nature center
  • Caretaker’s house
  • 18 rustic cabins: the cabins have an overhead light as well as a few outlets, there are large screened windows on the cabins for airflow and clotheslines around the exterior for drying towels and bathing suits
  • A bathhouse in each cabin area with sinks, flush toilets and showers

 

Recreation

  • Woolam Equestrian Park: 3 horse barns for 64 horses, tack room, hunt course, trails, and 4 riding rings
  • Low ropes challenge course
  • Archery range
  • One acre pond for swimming, boating and fishing
  • Friendship Court: a basketball and tennis court combo
  • Beach volleyball court
  • Gaga Pit
  • Soccer field
  • 10 fire pits around camp that host Vespers ceremonies, tribe meetings, outdoor cooking and s’mores delights!
